Tianhua Xu received the B.Eng. degree in information engineering and the M.Sc. degree in optical engineering from Tianjin University, in 2005 and 2008, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the School of Information and Communication Technology, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), in 2012. He has published over 90 journal articles and conference papers, and two book chapters. He holds four patents. His current research interests include optical communication networks, digital signal processing, machine learning, information theory, and nonlinear fiber optics. He has been the TPC Co-Chair/member of over 20 IEEE conferences and a member of the IEEE ComSoc and IPS, the International Society for Optical Engineering, and the Optical Society of America.(Based on document published on 6 July 2020)
